Wireless Access
The two IT wireless access points will still be used this year. However, the security on them has increased. They will be running WPA/TKIP. This provides encryption as well as a rotating key. A radius client/supplicant is needed to log into these APs. Windows has one built in for Wireless Access. You need at least Service Pack 1 installed and the update for WPA installed on your machine. This is the setup that you need to log in:

1. Open the properties option for the access point you want to access. Then set the Network Authentication to WPA with the Data Encryption to TKIP. If you don't have WPA, continue to the next step.

2. Only do this if you don't have WPA on your system. Select the Network Authentication to be Open and the Data Enctryption to be WEP. Also make sure the "The key is provied for me automatically" is selected.

3. Under the Authentication tab, enable the IEEE 802.1x authentication. Change the EAP type to PEAP and deselect the "Authenticate as computer when computer information is available" option.

4. Click on the Properties box and then uncheck "Validate server certificate".

5. Then click on Configure and uncheck the "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password" option.

6. Click ok until all of the dialog boxes are closed. You should then be connected and see something like the bubble below:

7. Click on the bubble to bring up a login box. Use your Caedm ID and password, but leave the domain blank.

8. Finally, you should be totally connected and able to use the wireless networks. Next time you login, you will not be required to fill in the login box again.
