Angela and Masha began their friendship during their first year in the
information technology program at BYU. They met in class and have
taken the majority of their courses together, helping each other along the
way. But these close friends were drawn to the discipline for different reasons.
Angela's interest in information technology arose from a desire to connect
people to one another. Masha's arose from her love of problem solving.
Both women agree the program has prepared them for the the hands-on and
rapidly changing nature of the information technology industry. "Friendships
made in the program are strengthened throughout the course of study
because of group projects and small classes," Masha said.
Said Angela, "The information we learn in class can be applied not only
to professional projects but also to personal passions. By sharing these
passions and supporting one another in our professional ambitions, we
became close friends."
Angela is grateful she could pursue her information technology studies at BYU.
"I have always appreciated the fact," she said, "that in a single school day I can
learn about electric circuits one hour and about eternal families the next."
